I think you are going to have to provide a lot more informarion.

OS: xp
CPU/Ram: dual core
Manufacturer/Model: ad

This lot is pretty meaningless and is your G drive a partition, another internal disk, a USB drive, a CDRom drive?

Once I thought I was wrong, now I'm not so sure!

1} Disconnect the IDE cable from the G drive.

2} Unplug the network cable from this machine.

Unless you're more specific with your questions, and provide all relevant details, these are about the best answers you can expect to get.

As others have already said, you have not provided enough information for a reasoned response to be given.

All we can do is guess at what you are asking. You should be more specific and give adequate detail.

The questions that you need to answer are:

1. Are the computers in a Domain or a Workgroup? Whichever of the 2 it is, how is it set up?

2. What device is the G drive?

NOTE - A domain has additional features that allow controlled access to networked nodes (computers). It is more complex than a workgroup.

1) How to hide and disable access to the "G" drive.

If G drive is a hard disk partition, then use a partition manager, e.g. Partition magic (not free) or Ranish Partition Manager (free), to hide the partition when access is not desired.

2) How to Prevent users from finding any computer on the network.

Password protect the resources on the networked computers then only authorised users can access them.

Generally once the end user knows the identity of a computer on the network, then it can be found.

1) How to hide and disable access to the "G" drive.

Group policy hide these specified drives or prevent access to drives from My Computer can be used to hide the G drive.

2) How to Prevent users from finding any computer on the network.

GP can also be configured for No Entire Network or No Computers Near me.
