Dear Tramboi,
Your question
user Tramboi has sent you an e-mail message.....Hi! I've seen on the computing.net board that you solved the microphone problem with your ASUS sound chip but I didn't really understand your solution. Could you please enlighten me on how you did it? :) Cheers, Tramb ....
My bottom line is "I got a little help from my friends"
BUT
See my chain of pleas for help at that time.So I solved my problem.....
In the end Basically, I did two things after getting help from ( was it Mr Tubularbells?)
1. Did a system scan to see exactly what my computer had installed in the audio blocks. Here you can use freeware programs such as Aida32, FreshDiagnose.2. Download the latest soundmax drivers from
www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/soundmax-audio.html .Now I think you are asking why the mike is not working.
If so, do the basic checks on windows itself to see if you can record your own voice using the built in windows utility.
------------------------Install the new drivers but here is the rub, this would seem to work for some people but not all.
Why?
Because the problem of "No Mike" with sound max seems to affect hundreds of people which in turn means there is no one solution.
Just think of the possible soundmax installations for XP +Asus/Dell/HP etc then repeat for combinations with the Vista tribe.Less helpful will be visit the AD forum on soundmax

And that is about it mon ami.... suck it and see..
Bye
Fred
