Two days ago I got stormed with a ton of pop ups and adware. I tried to use system restore which has always worked for me in the past, but this time it would not work so I turned it off and turned it back on as suggested to someone with a similar problem in another post on this forum, and now sys restore works again. I then ran Ad-Aware and I am pretty sure I got rid of most of the junk (I cant tell for sure though since I cant get online right now). I also had 2 files that were identified as viruses: biprep.exe and one other trojanspy something or another. I was able to get rid of those as well.
I have DSL through a modem/router and also a wireless router. My desktop works fine through both, so I know it is not the connection.
Sorry this info is so general, I really don't know what else to do though.
Thanks
Jrilla

I know I have not been asked to post this by an expert, but I have done a lot of searches and seen many people suggest running Hijack this so they could better diagnose the problem. I ran it and thought it would be helpful since my initial post was not very specific. One line in particular caught my eye:
"O10 - Broken Internet access because of LSP provider 'c:\windows\system32\lsp.dll' missing"
Here is the entire log:

Jrilla: a few ideas;
1. run the WinsockXPFix from:
http://cexx.org/lspfix.htm
or
http://members.shaw.ca/techcd/WinsockXPFix.exe
2. ShopAtHomeSelect can also cause problems, see:
http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/ShopAtHomeSelect.html
3. at first opportunity obtain Spybot S&D and SpywareBlaster and SpywareGuard.
4. post your Hijack log on our Security and Virus forum for more feedback.
let us know what worked for you...
