Got a new computer with vista installed. Yuck. Uninstalled vista and installed xp. Wrote down the driver for the network connection and though i downloaded the proper one from the intel site. Installed the driver, but still can't connect. What am I doing wrong????

Intel (R) 82567LM-2 Gigabit Network Connection is the driver i wrote down before uninstalling vista.

Could you get on the net before you installed xp?
go to start->run Then type "cmd" (without quotes). then type
"ping" and see if you get replies. This will test your nic's functionality.

It appears the ping was successful. 4 packets sent, 4 received. Still can't get on the net. I even checked to make sure all my cables were connected. Don't know what the heck I'm doing wrong. Maybe I downloaded the wrong driver? I went to the intel site and got it from there.
