how can i run a program without the icon showing in the taskbar? ie say running imesh in a stealth mode so no prying eyes will c it. i know it will be in task manager.bit they wont no how to do that :-) thx in adv

The only thing I can offer you is TWEAK-XP. It has an option called MINIMIZER, which will minimize any program from the taskbar to your system tray (by the clock) which you can then set to hide inactive icons. To be honest, I think that's as good as it gets.

Or, of course, you could set your taskbar to auto-hide.

mrcload, Are you talking about the systray? The taskbar contains the quick launch, the systray, and the time I believe. If you don't want icons displayed in the systray can't you just right click on the task bar, properties, (make sure "hide inactive icons" is checked)and then choose from the "current items" to "always hide" the one you don't want to see? I'm probably wrong but that's the way I do it. Unless I'm confused and you are talking about the bar on the bottom of your browser while you are on the internet. I'm not familiar with the icon you are talking about so I'm probably wrong here. But I use the procedure I described above to hide icons from my systray. Jimi.

sorry yes i ment systray. DOH! if i just do it that way ne1 using my pute only has to click on the arrow to see whats running. even if u select always hide. i would like to have no icon there so its in stealth mode like say a spy agent. thx for your responses:-)
