No Fixed Disk Present...

After the formatting my PC I can't install OS. I tried with 2 CD's like 98 Boot disk & Win xp disk -
When I type Fdisk , its showing "No Fixed Disk Present" - Why? - Can you help me

Jagir, SWAG, did you go into your bios and alter the boot order to look first at the CD drive rather than the HDD?
