Ok, I uninstalled this program a while back and then noticed that it had put two files on my desktop called "KS-Soft IP-Tools v2[1].50." and "Super Video Joiner v2[1].1.", yes you read that right they have no extension just a period at the end, I do have show all extensions turned on. That's just it they have no extensions at all. This would not be a problem except for the fact that the period is there I think is causing the problem, when I go to either change the extension or delete them it says "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from source file or disk." Well I tried in safe mode, then from Dos Prompt, then I even tried a Linux boot and tried to delete it from there. The only thing I have not tried yet is a Hex edit of the drive, even so I don't know exactly what the file contents are to find it. So any ideas other than screw the partition and re-install???

this isnt a fix for your issue but, for future reference if you want to see the file ext on files, go to folder ptions in the control panel (or from the tools menu of any folder), go to view and UNcheck hide ext for known types. If you access it from tools, you'll want to click the apply to all folders, if ctrl panel, it will do it for you
