Can't defrag in XP PRO, I get following error message:
Snap-in failed to initialize,
Name:Disk Defragmenter
CLSID:{43668E21-2636-11D1-A1CE-0080C88593A5}

Tried installing Diskeeper to get around this but, no luck there either. Just get error messages aswell. Any Suggestions?

Christopher, Here's a solution I found doing a search.

I read the previous answers and tried
run "regsvr32 dfrgsnap.dll" and "regsvr32 dfrgui.dll"
on Windows XP. It worked partially.

I finally solved it reinstalling the original defragmenter.
Go to C:\WINDOWS\INF directory,
right click the DFRG.INF file
and select INSTALL.

You can check out the entire thread at the link below.
