We are having problems on some machines after the new Windows service packs are installed and you can't get a cursor in internet explorer text boxes. If you click in a text box like google, no cursor comes up. Also, we have noticed problems with Outlook with intermittent printing and no cursor in the to cc and subject lines.

If we reinstall internet explorer, it fixes the problem - even fixes the Outlook issues. But, it seems to be happening to us on a lot of machines and its a pain to have to reinstall ie on each machine. What service pack would cause this? Or is there something we can do before installing the service packs?

If you're having the same problem with many machines (in a network I am guessing) have you checked for a virus in the system? One machine may be just a quirk, but more than that with the same issue in the same location makes me wonder...

Have you checked for spyware/adware as well?
