This laptop gets the Internet via Router.
Sometimes it fails to connect to the Internet although the Router signal is "Very Good".
Everything else functions ok but the e-mail is not working as well.
Today, the connection to the Internet is solid down. I reset Modem (Cable) and Router.
I repaired the IP address.
We use IE7 (replaced with IE8). Windows XP with SP3. What do you recommend?

Firewall Comodo Pro, BitDefender, Scans with , SpyBot AdAware

More on this problem:
E-mail, works without problem. Mail is handle by Comcast.
I connected the laptop directly to the router bypassing the wireless process. No change to the problem.
I used restore to a week ago, no change.
I now suspect IE8. Dumb here I do not have a second browser like Firefox on the laptop. I would like to step back to IE7 but since I cannot download anything, I am stuck... I think.
Any recommendations?

Go to Run and type in cmd...in the command prompt, type ipconfig /release and press Enter. At the next line, ipconfig /renew

this may help

The problem did not go away.
I still have e-mail activities via Comcast cable but the IE8 cannot display any webpage

Yesterday I read about how to simply step back from IE8 to IE7. I followed it by using the Remove Programs from the Control Panel. It automatically replaced IE8 with IE7 and to my amazement, the browser worked with all the websites I tried to open.
This morning, my wife powered up the laptop and IE7 started and to her delight, the websites opened without a hitch.
About 1 hour later, despite the system still using IE7, the problem returned. No websites would open.
I checked the wireless connection and it is still Very Good connection.
At this point, no firewall, no anti-virus running. Restarted twice and still no solution.
Any ideas?
