Hi,
I have a laptop computer and for some strange reason I cant dial upto the internet via the modem. Device manager lists no COM ports at all. Any help is appreciated.
It worked before but doesnt now and all i get are the following errors:
I USED THE DIAGNOSTICS IN PHONE & MODEMS OPTION IN CONTROL PANEL: and the check says the port that the modem is using is currently open by another application. Exit any applications that maybe using the port.
THE WINDOWS TROUBLESHOOTER VIA HELP & SUPPORT CENTER: says is your COM port turned off, the troubleshooter detected the COM port maybe disabled.
THE MODEM HELPER SOFTWARE THAT CAME WITH THE PC SAYS: COM port conflict detected, there is a software application that is using the modem.
