My computer has started telling me that I have no audio device. It won't play music in Windows Media Player or I-Tunes, and gives me an error that says my audio device isn't working. When I go to the control panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, it says I have no audio device, and there is no sound card listed under the hardware list. However, I know that I have one and it has been functioning properly up until now. I have tried rebooting the system, to no avail. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Hello mgratny, try reinstalling your sound card driver.
You can go into your control panel, click on System, Hardware, Device Manager, look down the list for sound, video, game controllers, click the plus sign, click your Sound card entry, Right click after highlighting it, choose Update driver, though there might not be one so maybe best just Installing the original one.
Hope this helps, GEP

Go to Dell's website and in the Support section, enter your Service Tag number. You can then download the proper audio drivers for your machine.
