No Alpha on Desktop Icons

For some reason, my desktop refreshed and now my desktop icons are messed up. The shadow behind each icon is gone and alpha icons now have jagged edges.
I changed nothing in settings and have no idea how this happened or why, but would love to have it back to normal!
I checked settings in Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Performance -> Options. I have 'Use drop shadows for icon labels on desktop' checked.

Melly, Start your computer in SAFE mode then restart it in Normal mode. This will rebuild the iconcache.db file. If you want those shadows behind the Icon text just "reverse" the procedure at the link below.
