No account to log in at startup

At startup XP doesn't show any accounts in the right hand pane of the window. How can I log in to the system with no accounts. Any ideas? I am new to XP

hold down F8 at boot to enter safe mode. create youself an account from the control panel, under user accounts.

In Windows HELP, click Index, type:
user accounts
Lots of information there.
Do you get into XP at all??

Start >> Setting >> Control panel >> User accounts >> change the way account log on or off >> Check use welcome screen... it won't promt you for the account screen now.

When it shows no accounts on the right panel at win XP on the logon screen...press control + alt + delete + escape at the same time and it should come to a window where u can enter in your user name and password...hoPE tHiS helps ...

I am able to get the log in window but for don't have a password. Is there a way to bypass this log on screen or I have to do a clean install
