new xp problem, indeo video problem

i just got a new winndows xp for my 2nd pc and i got a message i need to get indeo for windows xp because it no longer comes with it. yhey want 15.00 for this , my os works fine but when i try to use mgi video wave (for making avis) i get a message i need indeo, but if i wait a few minutes the videowave works. but it seems something just isnt right with video speed on windows xp such as netmeetingand other forms of video conferencing, it works but seems just a step behind. i have a similar system 2.2 p4 512 ddr with windows me that runs these applications a bit smoother, so i would like to know if any of you have got this ideo service pack and noticed any improvements?

Try this: Uninstall the present ideo package. Reboot. Right click on the ideo setup.exe and select compatability mode/ windows me. Do a new install and see how that works.
