i just built a custom computer and installed a new windows XP home and have cable internet hard lined to my computer through ethernet. but when i try to connect to the internet then i get no connection.

"i am pretty sure since its a brand new motherboard"
that probably means they are not install, unless you installed them. Is the sound working? How does the display look?larry

No, YOU have to install the drivers (chipset, video, sound, ethernet, etc). You should have gotten a drivers CD with the new board, if not, go to the manufacturer's website, download, then install.
How did you get the sound & video working?

Is the NIC (Ethernet) onboard, or a PCI or PCIExpress card?
Life's more painless for the brainless.
