Amost every day a new user entry appears in my registry. The key is almost identical to the normal one; only the last 4 digits are differenet. Next morning when I boot, it's gone. What's happening?

Thanks for the reply. I tried TrojanScan and found nothing. Interestingly, but not necessarily significently, TrojanScan reported 44866 files while Norton AntiVirus reports 65580.
I was hoping there was some legitimate purpose, but 6000+ registry changes seems a little excessive.
Any other suggestions? I'm pretty ignorant about the inner workings of Windows, especially XP.
