Hi Butterfilghtatoo,
Try booting up in safe mode and scanning for this pest that way. To get to safe mode, reboot your machine and keep tapping the F8 key until you come to a boot menu and choose "Safe Mode". Make sure your virus definitions are up-to-date and you should be able to get rid of this. Post back if ya have anymore questions.
Good Luck,

Please sit back and relax while Windows 98 installs on your computer.

Additionally, disable System Restore which will dump its files. Viruses love to hide in SR; its files are locked and cannot be cleaned when SR is enabled--only deleted.

You run the risk of re-infecting your PC with the old files.

Hi,
After reading up on this on the link that Solarian gave us, your AV may not catch this (but then again, it may). It is adware. Download and install Ad-Aware 6.0. Do a google search for it. Once rid of it, do a virus scan anyway, just to make sure your system is clean.
