Yet another question for you guys...
I had a screwy version of the SB Live! 5.1 drivers that worked fine on XP. Then I decided to get the official ones off of creative's website. They work fine to a certain extent. The problem is that whenever I reboot I'll only get sond out of 2 speakers and 1 sub instead of all 10 speakers and 3 subs. To fix this I have to go inside the mixer prog and do a "test" on the speakers. Which will create a horrid popping noise and all my speakers will then work. I've tried saving the settings as default without any luck. Any suggestions woul be much appreciated!

I did a update from windows the other day and was provided with the correct drivers from Microsoft. I have a few games that create the same "crappy" sound you are refering to. All the other areas of the sound card and games work fine. You may want to try the Microsoft version.
Good Luck

I have the same problem as kain. Having to go to test and then working only after the popping noise. I downloaded the driver from that french site whose address is floating around on this win xp strand.
The update on Creative's site doesn't seem to install and it's only about 40kb. I suspect it's not complete. Anybody know?

Which Creative Driver did U download? Because Creative Lab just got a new driver check it out.
