Specs: Windows XP, 512 RAm
I have compaq windows xp that two sticks of 256 mb of RAM. i upgraded to two 2GB of RAM and computer wont turn on

"compaq windows xp" Microsoft develop XP, HP/Compaq manufacture machines.

Did you check the memory you bought is compatible with the Compaq whatever model and that 2GB is supported ?

Bad ram, wrong ram, too much ram, wrong voltages, wrong speeds, damaged memory slots in the process, damaged some other thing in the process, forgot to connect something.
