new ram = blue screen??

can anyone please help me...
i have a 8 month old pc running 256 ddr ram and i have recently bought
another 2 sticks of ddr ram (same 266 2100)...but when i put in the 3rd
stick i get the blue screen of death!!
says stuff about "IRQL not less or equal to" ???

ive swaped the sticks around and works fine with either 2 sticks in...but
not 3??

is there anything i need to check in bios ??
ive had old stick and new stick together ...works fine...just not a 3rd.
Please help...or suggest who i can ask please

ps iam running xp pro and have no probs till now

Another wild guess... you need registered memory modules to populate more than two memory slots on your motherboard. Check your motherboard manual to see if I could be right.

It may simply just be incompatible. I ran into this issue with my Dell Dimension. Even when running all the exact same modules (spec wise) it will sometimes not even boot in any combonation. If I stick with all the same Mfg however, it works fine.
