I have built this pc with a soyo v1.0 dragon 2 motherboard, 2.8 ghz 800fsb 1mb cache cpu 2x1gb kingston ddr 400 pc3200 ram and a maxtor sata 80 gb hdd. I have loaded all the bios and the os and it gets to the xp logo screen and freezes after about three pases on the loading bar below the logo. I have uninstalled it and reninstalled it twice with installing it in the partition and the unpattition part with the same result. maybe i need to step back forawhile and maybe it will come to me. Does anyone have any advice on this?

i have just tried useing a maxtor 20gb ide hard drive that had 98se on it and it loaded in safe mode only. I uninstaled 98 and installed the xp home and it does the same thing. it freezes on about four passes on the xp logo now though.
