Comment:

My friend bought a notebook and a printer.
We installed new windows xp on it, and all the drivers from cds. But the printer doesn't work.

In the device manager i see usb 2 under question. Probably this is the problem.
So why is USB 2 under question and how do i install it ?

you may need service pack 2 for the usb to work, if your copy of xp did not have the service pack

Did you install SP2? If not, install it, (obtain from Microsoft's website), uninstall the printer, and then reinstall. See if that helps.

usb was invented before windows xp came out. I just need a new driver not the whole sp2 and besides that you didn't give me any links anyway. My friend doesn't have a internet jet, cause he's got a new pc. SP2 is not the problem since usb was around at time when windows 98 was around. Im just asking for a link or something to get the driver.
