i recently bought a geforce4 64 mb ddr video card for my computer. it was not compatible because of the agp on my motherboard. i bought a new motherboard that had all the necessary components. it would not boot up though, it would give me no POST beep, or anything, my monitor stays idle and doesn't give me any kind of messages. i was told by the people in the computer store that my processor wasn't compatible, so i bought a new processor, the 1.6 and i was told that it would work fine. but when i put it all back together, it still doesn't work, i've messed with the jumper settings, and it's still doing the same thing. i keep getting no post beep, and my bios won't even come up. i desperatley need some help because i have no clue how to fix this. anyone that can help me, please do. thank you in advance, Marcos

sorry, in addition to the info already here, my cpu is an athalon4 and my power supply goes from 115 to 230, when i run it on 230, it does absolutley nothing, but when i run it on the 115 it begins to make noise like it wants to boot up, but still no post beep or bios come up. everything is where it should be, everything is hooked up tightly, the card has a built in fan that comes on when i turn on the computer, but i cannot make anything come up, not even bios. please help

The 115/230 are power supply input voltages, normally 115VAC for USA and 230AC for overseas. Knowng the typecmotherboard would be helpful. Also check for bent pins onn the processor. Is the installed memory compatable with the motherboard, lots more information would be helpful.

it's a jetway, i can't remember the exact model number right now, but it's a socket a MB. the processor has no bent pins, and it's brand new. so is the motherboard. the memory may be what's causing the prob, but it says that it can take sdram, and ddr, just not both at the same time. i use my sdram, but it just won't come up. and i have no post beep. could the motherboard just be faulty?

Jetway makes many different socket A motherboards so really need to know the model number, also processor type and manufacturer. From what I can tell the FSB (Front Side Bus) frequency determines which procrssor the board supports, but I don't see 1.6 anywhere, just 1.4. Please try and locate the board part number and processor information. More than 1 of Jetway's boards support both DDR and SDIMM memory.

if you have tried to run the MOBO on the wrong voltage,i would personally take the thing back, with the cpu , and ask them to test the two. they will soon sort out the problem, however you should not tell them you tried different voltages, cos they will instantly say its your fault.
u should make sure that u read through the manual before u proceed to embark on any new additions, just to be absolutly sure, my experience is that a saleman will sell u anything, he dont care if you bring it back... good luck
