Hey all, i recently bought a Sony "19 SDM S94 monitor, i recieved it today, set it up but i have had to set it to a massive resolution for it to display correctly (1280x1024) any less resolution will result in fonts and objects looking bulky and out of shape. My grx card is an ATI Radeon 9600.

Also i have connected it by 'DVI-D' and it can only run at 60htz but if i use the standard HD15 connection it can run at 75 htz, whats all that about? :\ is there a way i can set it down a few resolutions and it display ok? thanks

1280 X 1024 is the native resolution for that monitor. Try going to the desktop properties, appearance tab and change the font size to improve the display.
Refresh rates make no difference on LCD's they do not flicker and therefore it is fixed at 60hz and can't be changed as far as I know.

ControlPanel>Display>Appearance
Press the "effects" button, and then enable "use the following method to smooth the edges of screen fonts", and set it to "ClearType".

The specification for this monitor specify that it works at 60hz , and if u change the resolution for a CTV monitor to 600*800 it would also be "bulky and out of shape"
