New look in Windows

There seems to be a new look. The bootup screen is different, Start, shutdown has a drop down box for the options rather than the old three icons, Ctrl+Alt+Del brings up a new screen rather than the Task Manager with a number of options on it including Task Manager (one more step), and maybe there are other changes I haven't discovered. Why? Was it a Windows Update patch or what? Thanks.

Yes to classic. Always have and it still seems to be set that way in folder options, start menu properties, etc.
I've become pretty good at HTML with this forum, but don't know how to get the screenie up. Saved it, but don't know how to put it in HTML. :(

salgolf,
Does your internet provider, provide you with some server space. You know, like for a web page. You might even have some with someone else, who knows. Not me :-)
If the answer, to either of these is yes. Upload the picture, and provide a link to it.

It sounds like you have your theme set to classic but not the login screen. There are seperate setting for each.
I dont run xp anymore (running WinS2003, no welcome screen), so I can't say exactly where the setting is. I believe it is under the users control panel. Click something like change how users logon. Then check use the welcome screen.

Will do as commanded above! Have been off line for a while because of major problems with McAfee whom I have come to hate, and I don't use that word lightly. All relatively OK now, and I'll be back later. Thanks for all your help.
