new internet connection

after installing xp, try to make new internet connection only lets me access broadband and not manual connection, this area is `Greyed´ out. I do not have broadband and I can´t force my isp connections. any advice please.

Start IE. Work offline for now. Select Tools>InternetOptions>Connections>setup.

You should be able to set up your connection using the wizard.

Thanks but it still doesn't work it takes me back to the new connection wizard. I go thro the various pages I pick out manual connection it still will not let me click on CONNECT USING A DIAL UP MODEM which is what I need it, defaults to Broadband connection and the rest is Grey. WHY??
