I am trying to install an external zip drive and everytime I click the add hardward icon, it gives me a message saying there is already another application running, please wait for that application to finish. Cannot run two installations at the same time.
I'm also having trouble with user profiles. There are 2 profiles on this machine, and instead of prompting me to select which one I want to use, it defaults to the first profile. I've gone in and set the settings to prompt me, but it never does.
Any help is appreciated.
Nate

Forget the wizard. Run the install directly from the install disk. If it's usb, you'll have to install the drivers BEFORE you connect the cable.

Doug,
I've tried installing it without the wizard. It's an older serial port zip drive. I downloaded the updated drivers off Iomega's website, tried to install them. Then it tells me I need to restart the computer for the installation to continue, and that the installation will continue on its own. It never continues.
I've already had this zip installed on this machine once before, but then our harddrive crashed. The Manufacturer replaced it, but I had to go in and reinstall a bunch of things. Now, the computer starts up and won't give you the option to choose which user profile you want, and the stupid wizard constantly tells me there is another application running.
Also, as if I weren't done yet, the 'most commonly used program' list you are supposed to get when you click on the Start menu, never changes. It keeps all the 'welcome to windows' icons there. Doesn't matter what programs I use, they never show up there.
So, I guessing these issues may all be related somehow.
Nate
