New hardware found

Everytime that I boot XP I get "new hardware found promise fastTrak 376 raid controller". This started after I tried to install the latest driver as it was using a microsoft driver. I have tried to install the latest driver and the original motherboard disk with the fastTrak driver. The complete install process looks like it is going fine, see file loading then "cannot install new hardware files could not be found. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Do you need ot use this raid controller?
If not go to device manager and under DEVICE USAGE choose disable in all profiles.

Unhook the raid hardware. Boot the system and remove all drivers from device manager. Reboot. Load the latest driver. Shutdown and install the raid device. Reboot and it should find the correct driver.

seat6 , I have uninstalled it from device manager, but did not disable it in the bios. I will try that. Thank you

I have disabled this device in device manager and in the bios.Uninstalled the drivers, put my hard drive on the primary ide. Still get new hardware found.Go through setup. "There was a problem installing winXP FastTrak 376 controller. The systym cannot find the files"
