New harddrive

I'm going to purchase a new harddrive in the next few weeks, probably with over 100GB and running at at 7200RPM. My old harddrive has 20GB and I'm not sure how fast it is, but I know it's slower than the one I'm getting. Should I install the OS on the old one and use the newer one for everything else, or simply get rid of the 20GBs and install everything on the new one? I'd like to know wich would maximize my computer's performance and loading times? Or.. does it have no effect at all?
My opinion only but I would do this, use a cloning utility such as Casper XP to clone over to the new drive as it will be noticeably faster and use the old one as a slave to save data to.

So you're saying that with this.. I could simply copy over everything from my old HD.. reformat it.. then use it as a slave drive along with my new one?
exactly, I have done so and it works great, there are a lot of other cloning utilities available just look to google, the reason I mentioned Casper is that some will not copy over the hidden boot sector therefore will not make a working copy, others will have more info on other cloning software.
