You can use something like PowerQuest Drive image to do a disk to disk copy. I used it the other day and it works great. I had my new hard drive installed and running Xp in twenty minutes.

One thing I did notice though, I had to use Partition Magic to resize the partition to the full size of the drive. It cloned it to the same size as the old smaller drive. I'm not sure if I didn't set something right or if using an older version caused this.

There are several other programs to do what your wanting. Norton's Ghost is another one. Try searhing www.google.com for drive imaging or drive cloning.

In my own opinion it's well worth the money. Partition Magic is pretty much in a class of its own. There are other programs that can do non-destructive partitioning but none of them are as comprehensive as Partition Magic is.

If your familiar with formatting terms and you know what your wanting to do it's not hard to use at all.

If you've new to partitioning it's a little more difficult. But Partition magic includes very well written help files and tutorials.

PowerQuest offers a demo of Partition Magic. It won't allow you to do any partitioning but it's a good way to see if you'll be comfortable using the program.

You should be able to use DriveImage to copy both partitions at once. Then use PM to resize the partitions to the sizes you want. Or you could use Windows partitoning tools to partition the drive. Then copy one partition at a time. I don't know if any resizing would be nessesary this way.

I don't normally bother ghosting or cloning a drive. Reinstalling WinXp and my programs doesn't bother me but I had just reinstalled everything two days before I got the drive. So the best advice I can give you is to do some studying and make sure you understand everything before you start.
