It is possible! with Explorer open, press: Alt+F, W, F

Now that's three keystrokes.... I use a program called HotKeys2000 that lets me assign "actions" to hotkeys. Actions include opening programs AND sending keystrokes to the currently open application!

Thus, using HotKeys2000, I could make Win+N (or another hotkey) send the keystrokes "%FWF" to Explorer which will create a new folder.

Hope this helps
