Hi everyone.Im Stumped.I bought a Dell Laptop to run navigation software for a fishing boat and also to run Xm Radio called XM PCR.On the old laptop ( win me ) xm pcr worked fine,,,However on the new Dell Laptop ( 2.2 ghz 512 ram XP Home ) XM PCR works but I can barely hear it even with my ears up to the speakers.Xm PCR works with a cable to the usb port and a cable to the mic in plug same as the laptop with Win me.Ive been on speaker properties and advanced speaker properties and cant seem to configure it to make XM radio sound. It wants to work but only at a level that a dog can hear!Any other sound such as mp3 songs sound loud and clear.Thanx for any advice.Take care!

Thanx.Upon further tinkering I unplugged the mini jack out of the laptop "mike in" and plugged it directly into a pair of amped speakers and the xm radio works and sounds great. So now im thinking its a windows problem and specifically some kind of audio properties problem.I just cant seem to find the right volume control,,,I have adjusted several to no avail.I also tried running XMpcr in win me compatibility mode but then XM cant seem to find a open comm port. All sounds such as mp3's work fine on laptop and XM PCR sounds fine when plugged into amped speakers so at least Im narrowing it down.Thanx for the advice!
