I have windows Xp. My computer has 5 different logins. 2 of them work ok, little pop ups and kinda slow for a cable, but the other 3 are messed up. Like 1 min. after loging in i get dumped with a massive load of pop ups. They come about 1 per second. In 1-2 minutes i have over 100 pop ups and rising! I don't even click on anything, they just start coming even if i don't touch the computer! I close the group of pop ups on the bottom bar, but they start coming again seconds later. I have a Cable/DSL modem and i can't even do anything on my computer! I need some major help! I don't know what to do!

Your computer must be full of spyware installed without you not knowing it. Using MSN Messenger and going into certain sites will contribute in more spyware. To get rid of them, download Ad-ware by clicking in the following link i provided and install it. However, before you run it make sure you first check for updates which most likely there will be. Once the Ad-ware has found the spyware, check in the box besides the spyware and delete them. This should clean the computer. Also, in windows XP enable the firewall.

Hi mrmusic, hi everybody,

How are these popups? do they look like Internet windows (same color, title, colored display...) or like Windows dialog boxes (mainly grayish)?
If the looked like Windows grayish dialog boxes then tell me and I'll give a specific solution!

If they are similar to Internet windows:
You get these popups because of malware in your system!
-> run an AntiVirus online scan from HouseCall (Trend Micro)... take note of infected files, try to repair, if uncleanable, delete them!
-> download, install and run AD-Aware... make a copy of the display and ask to repair!

Post back with the result!

Have a good day,

Hi mrmusic, Ed, Tbird4point6LX97, hi everybody,

Tbird4point6LX97, SpyBot Search and Destroy is a very good antispyware!

Spywares are so numerous and various that either Ad-Aware or SpyBot don't find all of them (you must also use HiJackThis, CWShredder, etc.) so that it is useful to run several such utilities!

As for antipopup softwares, I don't advise
to use them in that case because you would just hide the true issue!
Hiding the popups doesn't eradicate the malwares!
You never know what may be behind a spyware (dialer? keylogger? Trojan? etc.)... quick! cope with them all! never mask anything!

Have a good day,
Gérard from Paris, France

I use Webroot Spy Sweeper and ZeroPopup and don't have any problem whatsoever... You for sure need some kind of spy sweeper and popup blocker if your computer is on the net!!! Otherwise, you are in a mercy of those junks.

I used to use all of the above and tried even more. Now I use Mozilla Firefox browser and get NO pop-ups from the web.

However, mrmusic hasn't responded to Ed's posting and maybe the pop ups are coming from that wonderful piece of trash called MSN Messenger.

Try it, you might like it.
