Just about to set up a network with 1 pc and a laptop using a router. I've managed to share an adsl connection so far, but where do I go from here ? I want to be able to share files/printers etc but am unsure if it has worked. Yes...a gumby ! Any easy guides I can use or any step by step advice. Was unimpressed with the wizard in XP !

1. Make sure you have two identical user accounts on each machine. 2. Make sure you can ping both the IP Address of the machines and the machine name. (Start -> Run -> CMD > Ping 192.168.0.1 etc) 3. Share a folder on amchine 2 4. On machine 1, map a network drive to the share folder (Right click my computer, map network drive, the browse.) 5. Let us know how it goes.

And .... don't forget to turn off the XP firewall.
P.S. to Robdos
All I get are headaches when I try to map drives. Otherwise have fun.
