Networking Win XP and Win ME

im having a problem linking win xp and win ME together...i am trying to get my internet connection on the guest computer..the hub says that its has a good connection to the other comp just as well as the network card on the computer the lights are on but now i seen in a help file to ping the computer to see if i have a good conntion but it times out all the time...so now im stuck i've tried to do a network setup on win XP but when it trys to connect to the guest computer it errors so i cant make no setup disk..ive tried everthing that i could find PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

You don't need a hub to link two computers together.All you need is a crossover cable to network both system.
