Comment:

basically i have a wireless router ready for broadband netgear dg834.
While i'm waiting to be broadband enebled i'd thought i'd try to set up a home network.

unfortuantely the two machines cannot see each other.
view workgroup computers tells me the network is not accessable or i do not have permissions.
my network places brings up a blank screen.

however i can ping the machines from each other and can ping the router. this is the case both with firewall's enabled and disabled.

any ideas would be appreciated
thanks
simon

Did you do a search for computer, where you search for files? Did you turn off anything in the services.msc
