Ohkay i really don't know much about what internet connection we got here and networking and all that, but if you bear with me..
I think the problem here is that my computer isn't part of the network. I have 3 computers in the house. One of them is my dads. I just recently reinstalled Windows XP and right away tried to use IE but it didn't work.. I looked in 'Network Connections' and that little icon that used to say "LAN or High-Speed internet" is gone. :-/
I am (or used to be) permanently connected with a cable or DSL line.
My dads the one who set everything up.. On his desk next to his PC he has a D-Link USB/HUB.
he also used to have a netgear router ( http://www.needit.nu/images/products/rp614.jpg )sitting on his desk with 2 or 3 cables running from it which i'm pretty sure came from the 3 different computers in my house. But, uhm this netgear thing isn't on his desk anymore. i don't know where it is, maybe he just moved it.
My dads at work and will be gone for awhile.
My brother and my dads internet works just fine, the problem is that mine doesn't work. no internet connection at all.
I've been told that my computer isn't networked with the other 2 in my house? i'm not sure about this. also how will i go about netwokring them if thats the case.
and would my dads computer be the "host"?
Thank you for any replies, i explained everything as best as i could.-Lice

(40 minutes pass)
Ohkay i guess no one can help me.
Guess i'll just not-have the internet for the rest of my life.

What is the network (blue)cable in your computer attached to? Look at thee back, there should be a blue cable attached to your network card. Where is the other end of that attached to?

My dad and brother have a blue cable. Mine is red. :)
I honestly don't know what a network card is, But i have a red cable attached to the back of my computer that runs into the wall.I don't have X-ray vision so i dunno where that cable goes to.
