You need to create a user account on your XP system.(Ie username:BILLY password:THEKID)

then you need to login to your winme,win98 computers with the same user name and passwords.

When you try to connect to the network XP says who is wanting to network with me. it then checks its user accounts for that user. if that user does not have an account on the xp computer, XP will not allow them access. It won't talk with the other computers. But when you have a user account setup on xp and login on another machine XP checks its user accounts(Username and password) and says hey come on in. This is providing you are not having any hardware problems. If everything was working before the above should get you connected.
