Hi I have had this problem for a while and it's making me nuts. I can get a Network Places Icon on my desk top, however cannot get it in my startup menu which is the only place that networking will work. I have two xp pro systems on a router. It has worked fine in the past, then something goes south and I lose the network places out of the startup menu.

Have you tried setting it there by r-click Taskbar > Properties > Start Menu tab > Customize... button > Advanced tab then selecting it from the Start menu items list? If you have, try deselecting it from there, OK out, then repeat the process to enable again.

I'm Back On one of the systems I get this message when attempting to "View Network Computer", under Network Tasks..
"Work group is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available."
Hmmm. I am listed as administraor under my user account.
Any ideas Thanks in advance Bill
