I am trying to make a direct cable connection between my xp desktop and my windows me laptop. My problem is that when i go to incomming connections properties in the network connection file i then click on the users that i want to be able to connect to the desktop. I noticed that all the passwords have 15 characters and i don't know what they are. So to fix that i try to add a new user to be able to connect and then enter my password and it still atomatically turns to 15 characters. The reason i mention this is because when i try to connect to my desktop through my laptop i need to enter the desktops name and then a password so that renders it impossibe to connect my two computers. HOW DO I FIX THIS PASSWORD PROBLEM. I want to be able to transfer files via. lpt1 port but this seems impossibe what do i do?
