Hello, I have a LAN setup with 2 computers running WinXP (one desktop and one laptop). For some reason, the desktop can access shared folders on the laptop without a login and password, but when the laptop tries to access shared folders on the desktop, there is a login prompt. I have tried entering the same user & pass as the administrator account on the desktop, but the laptop still can't connect. How can I get the laptop to connect to the shared resource? Also note that neither of these computers has a Guest account setup.

try prefixing the administrator account name with the computer name and a \. like this computername\administrator. Then enter the password for the administrator account.
