hi all,
i have done a fresh install on a laptop and am trying to add this laptop to our domain. for some reason the 'member of' (in the system properties) is greyed out. I have tried installing the additional extra's on from xp cd but no result. Would anybody know why this may have happened and what can be done to sort this out???

Oh and im logged on as the administrator

Thanks in advance

Dubman

Is there a network card installed?

Is the network card disabled?

Are network services running?

I never ran into this problem so, I'm shooting from the hip here. I would think that XP wouldn't allow you to join a workgroup or domain if there wasn't something available that will run the network on the laptop. Verify everything in network properties.

I hope this helps
