Hi;

My problem is, I’ve just set up a network between my brothers PC and Mine since we moved home, the internet works on this computer which he gets from my computer, the broadband is connected to my PC, and so we both have the internet.

The problem is that when you go to My Network Places we can’t see each others drives, and when you go to view networked computers all we see is our own PC name.

I’ve tried running the XP network wizard several times and the problem remains.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

Regards
Adam Gates

P.S.
It’s a crossover network Class C RJ45 Cable.
Both machines run Windows XP Professional.
At our old home we could see each others drives it’s just since we’ve moved we can’t see them.
I’ve recently changed the wire were using.

Make sure you have the file and printer sharing service installed. If it is installed make sure the box is checked for enabling it.
