Can anyone tell me why I keep getting this messag??? I've never gotten it before, now I get it all the time. YIM MSN IM and a bunch of other programs are constantly asking to connect. How can I stop them from reqeusting a connection.
They would do that if you have them load with Windows at startup. If that's the case disable that in each program's Options, Preferences or Settings. The programs could be looking to connect to check for updates. You could turn off that setting in Options etc, too. Or, you can block their attempts to connect by using a firewall and creating rules that deny specific programs from connecting to the Net. You also could have a trojan infecting your computer and trying to connect out.
