Greetings all,
The problem that I got is that when I open my Network connections folder it is empty. I get no error messages. My internet and network are still working 100%.
I tried all the possibilities here :

When you right click on the icon in the systray, and click on Open Network Connections, what happens? Just a blank window with the heading of Network Connections? Or nothing at all? I'm not sure I completely understand the question.
Same when you go to it through control panel?

If so, try going to Start, Run, and typing sfc /scannow (space before slash) and seeing if that will replace any missing or corrupt files.

Have you for some reason disabled "Network Connections" in XP Services? This manages the Network Connections Folder. Have a look see: "Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Servcices". & as usual also run Ad-aware, Spy-bot & HiJackThis. Some viri & spyware will try to stop you disabling your connection.

To answer the first question salgof asked :
Using Start -> Parameters -> Network Connections -> Empty.
And
Control panel -> Network Connections -> Empty
What happens is that I got the regular window like using the normal explorer (blank window with network connections heading like you said) but the connections simply won't show up at all (the icons). Like I said my network and internet work fine though.
It is empty no matter how I try to get the icons to show, like if the icons disappeared but what is odd is like I said, all is still working 100 %.
I tried the scan also and nothing was corrupt or missing apparently.
To answer Grimples :
The service for network connections is started (I checked again to be sure).
I already tried running Ad-aware, spybot and so on ...
If I find anything else I will post it so you can all be able to help me resolve this issue faster.
Thanks for the help you may provide.

I have exactly the same problem with network connections being empty. I re-installed XP, that fixed it temporarily, but is gone once again. Wish I had an answer too.

I have just started with the same problem and have tried all known solutions to no avail.
My problem only began after the installation of Final Fantasy XI. I know this is a long shot, but has anyone else installed this game? (I know I'm reaching but this is the only thing that is different).
