I replaced my old 10Mbit Realtek card with a 10/100/1000 NC-1000TX-G card. But the card doesnt seem to power up on boot. XP obviously wont detect it as its not on.
Things Ive tried:
* Tried installing drivers first then install card.
* Tried a different slot.
* Tried changing BIOS PnP OS to yes rather than no. And various other power configurations like "power management" and "APS".
* Tried re-seating the card to check is in properly.
* Tried the card in a different pc of same age as mine and it worked fine.
The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-6BXD which is PCI 2.2 compatible.
This is really odd as Ive never experienced this. Could there be a setting in BIOS that I need to change?

Didya ever think it might be broken?
Tried cleaning the contacts with an eraser?
I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter.

I did wonder that until I tested it on another PC which powered up fine.
The slot its in on my PC works as Ive had other network cards, usb cards etc slotted in them.
Im not sure cleaning with an eraser will do much as its a brand new card. But I'll give it a go.
