net.exe & cmd.exe gone mad!

The system starts loading net.exe and cmd.exe 10+ times (I checked when I hit alt + ctrl + del) by itself and I think it slows down my computer. But when I check back 5-7 minutes later, everything looks normal again...what's going on? I usually just have trillian, winamp, winmx and IE running.
