Net Use Command issues (HELP)

I for some reason cannot get my net use command to work .. I run "command" then type net use \\xxx.xxx.xxx and I get a System 53 error.. I have re-formated, upgraded to SP2, and still no luck at all.. X : Yes I do have ADMIN priv on the machine.. I have used Net use many times so I know it is not my syntax...
