Hotmail has a selection to prompt for password all the time, as well as I believe most sites using Passport logins. Are you saving your password in your User Account on XP as well? I would suggest not doing so unless you aren't worried of anyone else using your computer and user account.
I would check to make sure the option when you login is set to save/remember your password. But, it is based on cookies... so if you clear out your cookie files then... you will have to re-enter password as with any other site on the internet.
